We're pretty big weather nuts in our house, but watching Hurricane Katrina develop is downright scary. I'm hoping that when the rain clears they'll discover that the damage isn't quite as bad as they were expecting. (Side note: Katrina was one of the names I was considering for our new baby!)
I finally got a haircut today, and I have an appointment to get a refill on my contact lenses tomorrow, so hopefully I won't be looking quite so frumpy.
Last week we put some new fish in our aquarium -- 3 neon tetras (Pippy, Skippy, and Tippy) and a little algae eater/sucker fish thing (Dirt Devil). The kids crack me up because they're always asking me which of the neon tetras is which, and I just casually say "oh that one's Skippy" or whatever, and they are buying it. :-)
School is going well, I have no major complaints at this point. Today for the first time Delaney actually tried to phonetically spell some things on her own, so I am excited that she is making further steps to reading. We are still waiting for our science curriculum to be available (Apologia Elementary Biology) and will start that soon. Delaney is really enjoying the books we're reading from the Sonlight PreK book list.
