Alright, I'll address the elephant in the room. Are you ready if a big bad virus hits your neighborhood? Are you turning off the news and hope it all goes away? Just curious what everyone thinks about it. Anybody that knows me well knows that I have my preps in order, just in case. (My personal opinion is that we may get a mild wave now, but may get a much uglier wave in the fall. But I'll be ready either way.) Today I'm doing some heavy spring cleaning, just to make me feel better. :-)
So, what's your M.O. for this kind of thing?
So, what's your prep for a virus? We have masks that we bought for SARS. Trying to keep healthy but I've had a cold for weeks so I'm trying to keep away from as many people as possible.

We're kinda going into "wait and see" mode... making the kids wash their hands like crazy, doing massive germ control, etc. Depending on how long this lasts, there's really not going to be any way to quarantine ourselves from the rest of the world. It's more a matter just trying to limit the impact of it and do our part not to be carriers of it.

My prep = spending inordinate amounts of time on the internet doing research; stocking up on any medical equipment/supplies that I would need if I had to tend to patients at home if medical care was not available; stocking up on food/supplies if I wanted to be able to hunker down for an extended period of time; stocking up on masks/gloves/cleaners if I needed to go out in public during a contagious situation; social distancing if I think necessary. I am somewhat scarred by Katrina/Rita. If I think that there is a chance of an emergency in my neck of the woods, I will do anything and everything I can to be ready for any combination of situations. Not saying that this is the best way, just saying that it is "my M.O." -- what I have to do to be able to sleep at night. ;-)

You and I have already discussed this and you know where I stand...just didn't want to not comment, though:)

We do have a decent food/water supply, masks and bulk cleaners as well. 72 hour kits. I don't have any particular medical equipment other than first aid, etc. but there are only 3 of us and we do already have a lot of meds and several varieties of kits so can do minor doctoring. A lot of this is standard preparedness for us not just because of this. Trying to stay away from researching and reading too much news because I wouldn't sleep at night! :-) We are already limiting our exposure to places that have lots of people in confined spaces which is just fine w/ this homebody.
