You already know we can never have enough animal friends over here, right? Well, my chicas finally decided what to spend their birthday money/hard-earned extra savings on. A trio of very tiny "robo" hamsters (smaller than dwarf hamsters).
(if you look closely, you can see one hamster in each of the running wheels, the other guy was down in the bottom at the time)
The kids love to put a hamster in their "ball" and see where they'll go. (Of course, we have to remember to put our kitty in my bedroom!)

Brave woman...those look like the white russian (or whatever) dwarf hampsters that I "babysat" for my college roomie one Christmas break...and both the females had a litter of babies which the male mostly ate! Some were spared and I ended up giving her back a much larger crew. She thought it was hilarious. Also...hers were GREAT escape artists...might want to put something heavy on the entrance points on top! ;) I almost killed one b/c it crawled under my room door one night, but I saw the squat little butt and knew it was hers.

Fun!! I love your new pictures on your blog sidebar. I wonder if I could handle a hamster. What do you do if you have to go out of town? Will they just take care of themselves? Is there a special food bar that will last a few days. Can you tell by these silly questions we've never had a pet. That looks manageable!

Oh my gosh, you will HATE cleaning that contraption. We had mice and it was horrible to clean their stuff. Good luck. :-)
